Assistant Restaurant Manager – Urban Umami
The main purpose of the role is to assist the Restaurant Manager with the smooth running of the
Restaurant. It further entails ensuring that the desired standard of both the product and guest service is
upheld.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the entire shift in terms of staff, product
and guest service - Delegate daily duties to the relevant team
members - Manage daily Front of House and Back of House
restaurant operations - Ensure managerial presence in the Front of
- House area and interact with guests
- Handle and resolve guest complaints swiftly and
professionally - Ensure monthly training is conducted with the
staff - Assist with weekly staffing rosters
- Perform weekly and monthly stock takes
- Assist with ordering of supplies
- Prepare inventory and advise the Restaurant Manager accordingly
- Build rapport with the team
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Assist with reservations
- Manage planning and running of functions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Min Grade 12
- Relevant tertiary education
- Minimum 1-2 years in a senior/similar role
- Excellent Interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrate commitment to excellent guest
service - Ability to motivate and lead a team
- Proficient in MS Office package and Micros
