Century City Conference Centre and Hotel’s COVID-19 response: Putting our Guests and people first
In the nationwide efforts to flatten the curve, the award-winning Conference Centre at the heart of Century City has closed from 23 March 2020 until 30 April 2020 and the Century City Hotel from 25 March 2020 until 4 May 2020.
CAPE TOWN, 27 March 2020 –Century City Conference Centre and Hotel (CCCC&H) announces the temporary closure of its Conference Centre from 23 March 2020 until 30 April 2020 and Hotel from 25 March 2020 until 4 May 2020. This decision has been taken with the venue and Hotel’s people and guests in mind, in light of the worldwide disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the South African government’s declaration of a national state of disaster.
The Century City Conference Centre and Hotel is renowned for its uncompromising personalised service and versatility: to us, relationships are key. In keeping with our passionate culture of care, commitment and consistency, we put our people and guests first.
In consultation with our stakeholders, the management of the CCCC&H has thus decided to close the Conference Centre in the coming weeks in the best interests of the health and welfare of all our staff and guests. With this important consideration in mind, we are diverging from business as usual to follow public health recommendations and do our part to help flatten the COVID-19 curve.
Our Reservations Team and Meeting and Events Team are working remotely, and are ready to take your reservations.
This means that the Conference Centre will be closed from 23 March 2020 until 30 April 2020 and the Hotel from 25 March 2020 until 4 May 2020, with our staff being placed on paid leave so that they can practice appropriate social distancing for their own health and safety, and that of our clientele, and to allow them to be with their families during this difficult time.
We are evaluating the situation daily and will update all parties concerned should an extension to the closure be necessary
We are fortunate indeed in having a significant number of our events and bookings postponed until later this year: a testimony to our strong, embedded relationships with our Guests, and the brighter future that lies ahead.
We would like to express appreciation to our dedicated CCCC&H staff, our partners and other stakeholders for their unwavering commitment to delivering service excellence, and for working tirelessly to turn our special Conference Centre into the success that it is for our guests.
