SALES MANAGER
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To promote the image and services of the Century City Conference Centre and Hotels in order to achieve maximum business and revenue growth through gaining new clients and contracts.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building successful relationships that generate sales opportunities
Achieve and exceed revenue targets by building a network of clients through a variety of sales strategies, including networking, attending corporate and industry events, and implementing cold outreach techniques.
Maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure continued business
Drive brand awareness through face to face and online collaborations
Act as a brand ambassador during site inspections and industry events
Actively partake and initiate activities such as sales calls, entertainment, trade shows, workshops and site inspections
Research prospective client information, establishing all relevant details to ensure a professional and proactive approach
Liaise closely with operational staff on all details for a prospective contracts and gain their agreement on all details
Present realistic proposals to prospective clients, having thoroughly researched cost factors and ensure that the proposal is achievable
Maintain communication with clients once the contract is secured and show ongoing interest in the partnership
Complete a weekly log of all activities
Analyse statistics thereby identifying key sales opportunities, challenges and success rate
Constantly monitor and be aware of competitor activity
Constantly research and be aware of new business opportunities and trends, and action these timeously
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Computer knowledge and experience in MS office programmes
Experience in managing and driving growth with a portfolio of existing clients.
Proven experience in negotiating and securing prospective group and conference business; and acquiring new clients through different sales strategies
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Highly organised, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
